I will like to use this technology in my classroom periodically throughout the year for different assignment. I think this way of illustrating and narrating a book is a great way for students to do severalthings: 1. it allows them to be creative in their own way without a lot of restrictions placed upon them for assignments. 2. It allows them to create using technology and to learn how to use technology properly for school work. 3. It provides a break from the boring old paper and pencil activities so they actually are more engaged in what they are doing/learning. and it also provides hem with a sense of accomplishment to create a story all on their own and for them to be able to hear themselves narrate it, is cool to them. 4. it differentiates earning for those students who are perhaps more visual, kenethetic learners too.
5. This is also a nice way of having them do a book report. As well as being helpful for the students to do it this way, it gives the teacher a break on grading somewhat too. Instead of having tons of papers to sit and read through, she only logs on to the account and does not have to fool with papers and everything. 6. this is a goood collaboration tool as well because you may decide to have the students present their nook to the class using the smartboard. Here again we have the use of technology intergrated into the classroom, and kids love that!!
